  • IMPROVED Previously, CSS variables were applied to all elements via global selectors (*, :after, :before). They are now defined in :root to ensure proper global scope and more efficient inheritance. Kudos to Stephan who reported the suggestion.
  • ERROR RESOLVED In some installations, the IAB TCF cookie information text was missing, resulting in a null value being stored. This has now been resolved.

  • IMPROVED As announced in the mailing dated May 9, 2025, we are now moving on to the second phase of automatic transition to Borlabs Cookie 3.3. In this phase, websites with a Business Small or Business Medium license that are not part of a multisite network will request the upgrade too. The upgrade can still be disabled via the dashboard in Borlabs Cookie.

  • ERROR RESOLVED In version 3.3.18, the version number in the plugin metadata was accidentally not updated from 3.3.17 to 3.3.18.

  • IMPROVED The TCF dialog shows information about consent storage in the TCF_COOKIE cookie.
  • IMPROVED When TCF is enabled, the widget is always displayed as required by the TCF. The "Accept Only Essential" button is always shown in the second (details) layer of the dialog, in compliance with TCF requirements.
  • IMPROVED When TCF is enabled, Borlabs Cookie is configured to update automatically. If a website with TCF enabled is not updated to the latest version of Borlabs Cookie, it will stop receiving the Global Vendor List (GVL), resulting in a loss of ad revenue. Website owners have one month to update to the latest version before access to the GVL is discontinued.

  • IMPROVED As announced in the mailing dated May 9, 2025, this update marks the start of the first phase of the automatic transition to Borlabs Cookie 3.3.   • NEW Added support for Elementor element caching. Requires the latest version (1.205 or later) of our Elementor package from our library.
  • NEW Added support for Hummingbird caching. Requires an upcoming Hummingbird package from our library.
  • ERROR RESOLVED Third-party caching systems were being cleared too often when working in the Borlabs Cookie backend. Introduced on March 13, 2025; discovered while implementing Elementor element caching support.

  • IMPROVED To speed up troubleshooting, the Debug Console now indicates if the current URL is configured in the "Hide Dialog on Pages" list.
  • IMPROVED To prevent blocking by 6G firewall rules (e.g., in plugins such as All-in-One Security), the query string field in scan request URLs has been renamed.
  • IMPROVED The package installer now recognizes the Provider unknown, needed for an upcoming package.
  • ERROR RESOLVED The Content Blocker button "Accept required service and unblock content" is now hidden when its associated Service is disabled.

  • ERROR RESOLVED In rare cases, cookie names consisting only of numbers could trigger an error when cookie blocking was enabled. Kudos to David for finding the error.

  • IMPROVED Newly added Services in installed Packages are now disabled by default to comply with legal requirements. Consent may only be requested for services actually in use. This change was also requested by agencies, as unused services previously had to be disabled manually.
  • IMPROVED The dialog is now automatically hidden on the configured imprint and privacy policy URLs. It is no longer necessary to add these pages to the "Hide Dialog on Pages" list manually.
  • IMPROVED The backwards compatibility library has been improved.
  • IMPROVED The onExist() method now supports checking nested object properties.
